Outreach to Latino youth and young adults—especially the vast majority that is U.S.-born—has been a top priority expressed in the trainings, the Guide, and most other materials of the V Encuentro. While the goal has always remained in view, many places have struggled to reach this population.
The V Encuentro consultation would not be complete without the strong voice of young Latinos, so a 5-minute survey was launched on November 16 at the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC), and it will remain open until the end of the year. This is an excellent opportunity for our young people to continue their work as missionary disciples by inviting their friends to give feedback to the Church.
Nearly 800 young Catholics have already responded, but we would like many more to participate. As an incentive, we are offering a Samsung Galaxy Tablet to a winning respondent to be drawn on December 12. The survey can be reached from the “Jóvenes” tab of the V Encuentro website, or directly at:
