Personal Invitation from Archbishop José H. Gomez, Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, and Bishop Nelson Pérez

This is a historic moment for the Church in the United States. The number of Hispanic/Latino Catholics is greater than ever and will continue to grow. The Church is now turning to a new generation of Hispanic/ Latino leaders who, like previous generations, are gifting the Catholic Church with their rich spiritual tradition and their witness of God’s love. Together we can identify a path of encounter and accompaniment that will bring unity in diversity and form Catholics as true missionary disciples. The V Encuentro will shape the Catholic Church in the United States for generations to come.

More than one million Catholics across the nation are engaged in the V Encuentro process. We personally invite you to join in this process through your generous support as sponsors of the V National Encuentro. Your gifts can fulfill the hopes and vision of our Church leadership and members. We appreciate your consideration of our invitation. Be assured of our gratitude for your attention to our request.

God Bless you

THE V NATIONAL ENCUENTRO

September 20-23, 2018 Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, Grapevine, TX

The V National Encuentro of Hispanic/Latino Ministry is a multi-year process aimed at discerning ways in which the Church in the United States can better respond to the Hispanic presence, by better recognizing, embracing, and promoting the many gifts and talents that the Hispanic community offers to the church. The V Encuentro seeks to strengthen the ways in which Hispanics respond to the call to the New Evangelization as missionary disciples serving the entire Church. The V National Encuentro will gather over three thousand delegates representing thousands of Catholics who have participated in the V Encuentro local process, in approximately 5,000 parishes, lay ecclesial movements, Catholic organizations and institutions. Over 100 bishops are expected to lead their respective delegations including priests, religious, and lay leaders, young and old, who have been involved in the V Encuentro process of mission, consultation and community building.

The V National Encuentro is an opportunity for your organization to play a significant role in reaching out to over 3,000 highly committed and engaged Hispanic/Latino Catholics and other leaders, and to be a part of a process that will significantly impact the future of our Church. If you want to be a part of this historical moment in the life of our Church, join us at the V Encuentro!

  • Almost half of students currently enrolled in U.S. lay ministry formation programs self-identify as Hispanic
THE V ENCUENTRO ENGAGES THIS POPULATION

Over 1 million Hispanic/Latino Catholics engaged through the process

  • 165+ dioceses and archdioceses across the U.S. engaged
