Joel Rodriguez was born in Brooklyn, NY to Puerto Rican parents, the eldest of three siblings, he moved to Puerto Rico with his family at age 12. There he completed his secondary and university education obtaining a degree in public administration and human resources. He then obtained two masters, one in health administration and the second in health law. He met his wife Zory with whom he has a daughter and two children.

Rodriguez converted to Catholicism in 2006 after being a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for 37 years. After 10 years of entering into communion with the Catholic Church he is the director of the Hispanic ministry of the diocese of Fort Worth, TX. As director of the Hispanic ministry department he is also involved with the V Encuentro as the Diocese of Fort Worth will host the national event on September 20-23, 2018 at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine TX.

Joel’s vision and hope is that,

“This journey of the V Encuentro will lead us to the new evangelization through a transforming discipleship, whose result will be of missionaries deeply committed to sharing the message we have received from our Master.”
